Cropredy Festival 8th August 2013

We were delighted to have played at the Cropredy Festival last weekend. It was a great day and we had an amazing time, from the start of the day to the end. Leigh and Craig started off with a live acoustic performance of Will Be and Bittersweet which was recorded by BBC Radio Oxford. This was closely followed by a filmed interview with the legendary Bob Harris! Then it was back again to be interviewed by BBC Radio Oxford.

Next it was a quick change and onto the main Stage for a 75 minute set. The audience of 20,000 warmed to us straight away and we had an amazing show. Thanks to James for perfect sound, Mark for an immense light show and of course Steve, Smudge and Steve for being brilliant crew! It was all over too quickly and we left the stage accompanied by rapturous applause to make way for Alice Cooper. Now there’s another story…

Here is each of our thoughts on the day;

Leigh: “Playing the Fairport/Cropredy Festival was definitely one of the highlights of being in Romeo’s Daughter! From the minute we walked on stage to the minute we walked off, it was pure pleasure for me, as a singer and also as a member of such a fantastic band. It was the 1st really big festival we have played at since we started the band and I hope it is the start of us playing many more - the audience was so responsive and I hope we have made a few more RD fans – we certainly left being fans of theirs!” X

Ed: “I think we may have made a few new friends at Cropredy...I personally had a ball and loved watching my band buddies settling into the gig and the massive grins on their faces :) What a band, I love you all.”

Juliet, our lovely Manager: “I was totally blown away by Romeo's Daughter's performance at Cropredy, along with 20,000 other fans. Their stage presence was truly sensational. Headline lighting and sound thanks to our great touring crew led by the fabulous Steve Church. I was so proud of Leigh, Craig, Ed, Andy and Jeff. A stunning rendition of "Will be" was the perfect track for Leigh and Craig to return for their final encore. The crowd were certainly left hungry for more. Big thanks to the Cropredy crew and staff, in particular Gareth, BBC Oxford and the lovely Bob & Trudie Harris and family. Roll on next year!”

Craig: “It was a fantastic experience and that I would want to happen time and time again. I felt very proud of us all, the whole team worked brilliantly.”

Andy: “It was a " fantastic day " !!”

Jeff: “What a great festival, very proud to have been part of it”
